The Northwest Christian Crusaders can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Florence with a sharp 58-35 win. The win was familiar territory for Northwest Christian who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Katelyn Best, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Quinn Gray was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Florence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was E.c. Turk-francis, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keylee Scarbrough, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Northwest Christian has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Florence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Northwest Christian and Chino Valley will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chino Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Northwest Christian is ranked 86th). As for Florence, they will be playing at home against Veritas Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Florence is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats at home, meaning Veritas Prep will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
