Even though the Rock Hill Blue Hawks scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Grand Prairie Gophers still came out on top. Grand Prairie came out on top in a nail-biter against Rock Hill and snuck past 62-60. Given Grand Prairie's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Rock Hill is ranked 839th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Rock Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nehemiah Bentubo. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Allen, who scored 10 points.
The victory got Grand Prairie back to even at 5-5. As for Rock Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Prairie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Highland Park at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Highland Park will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Rock Hill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
