Leading Woods Cross to victory were Katie King and Mari Nichols. King scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Nichols scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Nichols scored 15 or more points. Grace Macarthur was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Roy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Analeise Maharaj, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Jerzee Hart who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
The win got Woods Cross back to even at 7-7. As for Roy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Woods Cross will be playing in front of their home fans against Northridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Northridge is ranked 72nd, while Woods Cross is ranked 53rd). As for Roy, they will head out on the road to challenge Bountiful at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 58.5 so far this season, Bountiful's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Roy better be ready for a challenge.
