Lynn is 1-9 against Marion County since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lynn Bears will head out on the road to take on the Marion County Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Lynn sitting on seven straight wins and Marion County on five.
Even though Hackleburg scored an imposing 60 points two weeks ago, Lynn still came out on top. Lynn secured a 66-60 W over Hackleburg.
Braylen Roberts and Cale Tittle were among the main playmakers for Lynn as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Tittle continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Kelly was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Marion County stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They really took it to Brilliant for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-39 win on the road. Given Marion County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Brilliant is ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marion County can attribute much of their success to Tye Madison, who scored 20 points along with three steals and three blocks, and Joe Aldridge, who scored 14 points along with six assists and six steals. Madison is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalyce Floyd, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Lynn pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Marion County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Lynn, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-56 loss to Marion County when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Aldridge, who scored 34 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Now that Lynn knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
