It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the St. Martinville Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 46-40 W over Leesville. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
When it comes to explaining why Leesville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Ford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 291 yards and five touchdowns. Ford is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Farley, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
St. Martinville's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Leesville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
St. Martinville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jennings. Leesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
