The Red Mesa Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 71-49 loss at the hands of Monument Valley. The matchup was a close 27-24 at the break, but unfortunately for Red Mesa it sure didn't stay that way.
Monument Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braxton Goodshield, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodshield has scored all season. Joshua Hicks was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Red Mesa has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Monument Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Red Mesa's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Fredonia is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home. Monument Valley will take on Whitehorse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Whitehorse is ranked 123rd, while Monument Valley is ranked 137th).
