Briar Woods has not had much luck with Potomac Falls recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Briar Woods saw an underclassman step up: Ryan Brzezanski dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Brzezanski has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Devon Pettibone was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
David Marshall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Potomac Falls, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Opiola, who scored 11 points along with four steals and two blocks.
Briar Woods has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Potomac Falls, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.
Briar Woods will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lightridge at 7:15 p.m. Lightridge is coming into the game with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Briar Woods will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Potomac Falls, they will play host again and welcome Stone Bridge, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Stone Bridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
