Basketball Recap: Ella Weatherholt Key Part of a Team Effort in Vikings Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Knox, North Posey was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Princeton Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-45 back in December of 2024.

North Posey's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Weatherholt, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Weatherholt has posted since back in January of 2024. Alyssa Heath was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raven Jones, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. Jones continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ailie Taylor, who scored 19 points.

North Posey has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Princeton, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Posey will welcome Tecumseh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Posey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Princeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton is facing Pike Central at the right time seeing as Pike Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
