After a string of three wins, the Village Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 61-42 bruising from Antonian Prep. Village has not had much luck with Antonian Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Antonian Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyzarriah Fox, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Fox hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniyah Fox, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Village's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8. As for Antonian Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Village will take on Concordia Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Concordia Lutheran is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Antonian Prep, they will be playing at home against St. Agnes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
