Hesperia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angie Villalobos, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Isabela Duffy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Diamondbacks by a score of 6-1.
CARSYN LEON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on KAYLA CAZARES, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was KAYLIN STEEDE, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.
Oak Hills' record is now 6-8. As for Hesperia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13-1.
Hesperia's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Scorpions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Oak Hills, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hesperia continue to outrun the ball?
Hesperia suffered a grim 23-0 defeat to Oak Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Scorpions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
