Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the McLane Highlanders walked away with it. They managed a  80-76 win over the Cavaliers  on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
  Cedric Hughes continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines,  dropping  a double-double on 23 points and 11  rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last 13 times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  James Brown, who  scored 17 points along with seven  rebounds.
 Central Valley Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Aj Johnson, who  scored 27 points. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's  now  scored 16 or more in the last five games he's  played.  Caden Lloyd was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 14 points and 18  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Central Valley Christian  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 21  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 McLane's win  ended a four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 17-12. As for Central Valley Christian,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 16-13.
 McLane will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Sierra at 6:00  p.m.  on February 15th. Sierra will roll in looking for their  14th straight  win, something McLane surely won't give up without a fight. Central Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
