The Douglas Tigers were the 43-38 winner over the Bishop Manogue Miners when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Douglas fell to Bishop Manogue 55-51. Douglas just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Douglas' loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Jett Lehmann and Caden Thacker. Lehmann scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks, while Thacker dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Thacker pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Estes, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Bishop Manogue, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Douglas will be playing in front of their home fans against Galena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will head out on the road to square off against McQueen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (McQueen is ranked 53rd, while Bishop Manogue is ranked 39th).
