McGill-Toolen is 10-0 against Murphy since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets will be staying on the road to face off against the Murphy Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully McGill-Toolen is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Murphy in Alabama (McGill-Toolen is ranked 67th, while Murphy is ranked 212th).
McGill-Toolen posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Biloxi out 31-29.
Meanwhile, Murphy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-26 to Blount. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Murphy has scored all season.
McGill-Toolen is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Murphy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
McGill-Toolen strolled past Murphy when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 41-27. Does McGill-Toolen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Murphy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
