The Coffee Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 62-36 loss at the hands of Bradwell Institute. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Coffee has scored all season.
Marquavious Bussey and Khyolic Paulk certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bussey scored five points along with four steals, while Paulk scored five points. Bussey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.
It was another big night for Elyjah Thurmon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds for Bradwell Institute. Thurmon hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahshaun Frasier, who scored seven points along with nine assists.
Coffee now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Bradwell Institute, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Coffee will head out on the road to face off against Fitzgerald at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fitzgerald is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bradwell Institute, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Glynn Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th. Glynn Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
