Ridgefield is 9-1 against Columbia River since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spudders are taking a road trip to take on the Rapids at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Columbia River will be up against a hot Ridgefield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Spudders put the hurt on Washougal with a sharp 21-2 victory on Wednesday.
Madeline Bruguier made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Columbia River never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hockinson on Wednesday. They blew past the Hawks 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Rapids in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.
Ruby Lew spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Columbia River got a big performance out of Ella Easter, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Easter's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wilder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ridgefield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543. However, it's not like Columbia River struggles in that department as they've averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ridgefield was able to grind out a solid win over Columbia River when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spudders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
