The St. Scholastica Doves will venture away from home to square off against the French Settlement Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Scholastica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
While St. Scholastica's win against St. Thomas Aquinas wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Doves had just enough and edged out the Falcons 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Doves in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Karsen Boyet made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrianne Kavanaugh, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, French Settlement entered their tilt with Pope John Paul II on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like St. Scholastica, French Settlement also got a great game from a two-way player: Malloy Miles. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Miles has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, French Settlement got a massive performance out of Ava Acosta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Remie Gautreau was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
The win got French Settlement back to even at 9-9. As for St. Scholastica, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
