The Steubenville Big Red will be playing at home against the Licking Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Steubenville had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over Carrollton. Given Steubenville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Carrollton is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Licking Valley blew past East, posting a 40-6 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Licking Valley.
Hayden Rodgers was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Kamden Walker, who picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Steubenville's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. As for Licking Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
