Loris and Dillon are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Last Friday, Loris humbled Georgetown with a 67-24 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Janiya Richburg was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last nine games she's played. Mari'Asia Moody was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven steals and five assists.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dillon). They claimed a resounding 79-45 victory over Marlboro County. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.
Loris better focus on containing Treasure Davis and Khwnylahi Mckinnon as the pair were huge in Dillon's win. Davis went 13 of 19 on her way to 29 points along with eight boards and five steals, while Mckinnon went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Those eight assists gave Mckinnon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayonna Lester, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three steals.
Dillon was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Dillon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Loris, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Loris has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 35.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Dillon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Loris came up short against Dillon when the teams last played on January 9th, falling 50-43. Will Loris have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
