It was a good run, but the Pine Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 63-38 defeat at the hands of Dade Christian. Pine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Kenvenson Malivert was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds for Dade Christian. Malivert continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Kevin Rojo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and two steals.
Pine's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Dade Christian, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Pine will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. John Carroll Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Dade Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Coral Gables at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Gables presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dade Christian in Florida (Coral Gables is ranked 161st, while Dade Christian is ranked 428th).
