Softball Recap: Rio Hondo Wins Going Away Against Progreso

Rio Hondo won the last time they faced Progreso and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Red Ants.

Rio Hondo got a massive performance out of Jazmine Delgado, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Delgado has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lauren Rincones, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Rio Hondo has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Progreso, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

As of now, neither Rio Hondo nor the Red Ants have any future games scheduled.
