Forrest County Agricultural is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Columbia Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went Forrest County Agricultural's way against Citronelle as Forrest County Agricultural made off with a 7-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aggies.

Parks Brock made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Trip Carpenter looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
Back at the plate, Landen Grice was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Mclemore, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Columbia faced off against Mendenhall on Friday. Columbia was the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Mendenhall. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Brayden Thornhill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Thornhill was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Columbia got a massive performance out of Dillon Rowley, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Jonathan Lowery was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Columbia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Columbia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Forrest County Agricultural, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Forrest County Agricultural has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Columbia struggles in that department as they've averaged .483. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
