After a string of five wins, the Minnechaug Regional Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-47 to Pittsfield. Minnechaug Regional was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pittsfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 12th.
Pittsfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyana Summers, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals. Summers is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Bre'Jai Ellerbee was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Minnechaug Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Pittsfield, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minnechaug Regional will take on Westfield at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Westfield is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Pittsfield, they will be playing at home against Chicopee Comp at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
