It was a good run, but the Goretti Gael unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Rosedale Christian Academy 71-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Goretti saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Bolduc scored 33 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bolduc has scored all season. Danica Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Goretti's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Rosedale Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Goretti won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Washington at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Goretti focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. Rosedale Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Roland Park Country at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. One thing working in Rosedale Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
