Capital was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in 5A Southern Idaho. Earlier in the week, the Eagles triumphed over Timberline 28-7.
The win marks fifth in a row for the Eagle.
Tarik Littlejohn was the best wideout in the league this week as Capital topped the Wolves. Littlejohn tallied 11 receptions for 142 yards. Marcell King Jr helped Capital's passing attack out by catching two balls for 21 yards.
Cole Skinner threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns. He went 16-22 with zero interceptions.
TJ Clarke was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 150 yards as Todd Simis's team beat Timberline. Makena Simis also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
Borah's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Skinner has thrown for 890 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Kion Williams has 20 catches for 460 yards. Hunter Kenyon leads the league in rushing with 506 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Mountain View and Boise. The Mavericks enters the game ranked 12th in the state, while the Braves ranks 23rd.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on Rocky Mountain. Capital has allowed 78 points this season, while the Grizzlies have given up 73. The Eagles allowed 7 points last week as they defeated Kirk Copeland's team.
Centennial was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Vallivue 41-7. The Patriots came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
