Dickinson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Clear Falls Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dickinson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 423 points over their last six games.
Dickinson suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Clear Springs by a score of 66-64. While losing is never fun, Dickinson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Clear Springs is ranked 99th).
Despite their defeat, Dickinson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Qasim Boyd, who scored 22 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Boyd is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Chong, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Clear Falls' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Clear Springs, falling 85-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Clear Falls has suffered since December 2, 2023.
Dickinson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Clear Falls, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-20.
Dickinson took their victory against Clear Falls in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 53-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dickinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
