The St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats entered their tilt with the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Ignatius College Preparatory came out on top against Archbishop Mitty by a score of 28-21 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as St. Ignatius College Preparatory also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarious Hogan, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Jones, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Archbishop Mitty's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caden Allard, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Allard's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Joey Campagna, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.3 points per game. As for Archbishop Mitty, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory will head out on the road to face off against Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Serra is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Archbishop Mitty, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. Valley Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
