This season hasn't been kind to the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions, who are still winless after their 15th match. They took a 49-33 bruising from Henderson Collegiate on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Excelsior Classical Academy of the 69-53 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Several Flying Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shawn Francis-Service, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hill, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Excelsior Classical Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Henderson Collegiate, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Excelsior Classical Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Eno River at 7:30 p.m. As for Henderson Collegiate, they will head out on the road to challenge Vance Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
