It was a good run, but the Burroughs Burros unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 56-43 to Victor Valley. Burroughs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Victor Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Burroughs' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cory Kent, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Kent continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Brady, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
ISAIAH BUTLER continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Victor Valley, scoring 35 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points BUTLER has scored all season.
Burroughs' loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Victor Valley, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burroughs and Hesperia will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hesperia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burroughs in California (Hesperia is ranked 167th, while Burroughs is ranked 705th). As for Victor Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
