Hanover is 3-0 against the Buffaloes since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Hanover's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Buffaloes have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Hanover earned a 55-45 victory over the Mustangs. Given Hanover's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Mustangs are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hanover found their leader in underclassman Tanner Bruna, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bruna has scored all season. Garrett Martin was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Republic County was beaten by the Trojans 72-25 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Republic County has lost by exactly 47 points.
Hanover's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Republic County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Hanover beat the Buffaloes 53-40 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Hanover have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
