Wauconda has gone 9-1 against Round Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 4:45 p.m. Wauconda knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Round Lake likes a good challenge.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Wauconda narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Grant Community 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Wauconda has posted against Grant Community since April 26, 2023.
Logan Connolly looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blake Swanson was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Rudolph, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Wauconda was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Round Lake came up short against Grayslake North on Thursday, falling 15-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Javier Rolon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Wauconda pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Round Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Round Lake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wauconda hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Round Lake, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Wauconda's hitters?
Everything went Wauconda's way against Round Lake when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Wauconda made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
