The New Milford Knights lost against the Lyndhurst Golden Bears back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. New Milford's2023 ended with a 53-35 defeat against Lyndhurst.
Lyndhurst's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Asya Akar led the charge by scoring 19 points. The game was Akar's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Harper, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
New Milford's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lyndhurst, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Milford will square off against Ridgefield Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lyndhurst and North Arlington will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
