Baseball Game Preview: St. John Paul II Panthers vs. North Florida Christian Eagles

St. John Paul II hasn't had much luck against North Florida Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. John Paul II Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the North Florida Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. St. John Paul II will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

St. John Paul II will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Rickards on Tuesday. St. John Paul II blew past Rickards 15-3.

Mason Avant and Javi Santana did most of the damage at the plate: Avant scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Santana scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Santana a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Wyatt Visnovske, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for North Florida Christian's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 6, 2024.

St. John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Florida Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

St. John Paul II might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from North Florida Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can St. John Paul II avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
