Simeon and Brooks are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Simeon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Simeon's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Morgan Park. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

03/28/25 vs Amundsen | 2 |
03/21/25 vs Stevenson | 2 |
04/12/25 @ Kenwood | 1 |
The result came thanks to Christian Lott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Simeon is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Simeon let Bryce Jones and Daniel Jones Jr run wild. Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Jones Jr went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Jones has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Brooks came up short against Chicago Washington on Wednesday, falling 11-3.
Brooks saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Slaughter, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Simeon's win bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for Brooks, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-19.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Simeon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brooks struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Simeon took their victory against Brooks when the teams last played last Monday by a conclusive 16-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
