Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A-1 Region II District 7 this week, Malakoff beat Grand Saline 73-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Eustace scaled the state rankings by moving to 771 from 845 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs were able to move up by beating Kemp 58-15.
6-foot-0 quarterback Jake Williams of Lone Oak is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,102. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rosendo Preciado. The Quitman star has 8 catches for 116 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Quitman's Preciado goes up against the Indians' Aaron Bolin.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Malakoff takes on Eustace. At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while Heath Ragle's team is in fourth.
