Make it ten blowout wins for the Lawrence Academy Warriors this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Albemarle School 80-19 on the road. While fans of Lawrence Academy might be used to big wins, the 61-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Lawrence Academy was led to victory by Patrick Lundy and Carter Hoggard. Lundy scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists, while Hoggard scored 15 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoggard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Woodard, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Despite the loss, Albemarle School had strong showings from Luke Soule, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals, and Rylan James, who scored no points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Soule has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Albemarle School struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lawrence Academy racked up 21 assists.
Lawrence Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Albemarle School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-22.
Lawrence Academy will square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Pungo Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. As for Albemarle School, they will face off against the Eagles at 6:35 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Northeast Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
