Despite the defeat, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: Madison Randolph scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Randolph has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Gamble, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wilson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wilson.
Wilson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leanissa Swinton led the charge by scoring seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leah Spears, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
South Florence's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Wilson, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Florence have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
