Basketball Recap: Plainfield Piles Up the Points Against Perry Meridian

There's no place like home for Plainfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Perry Meridian Falcons 73-32. The win continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

Leading Plainfield to victory were Berkeley Williams and Hannah Menser. Williams went 9-for-12 on her way to 19 points and three steals, while Menser shot 46% from the field en route to 15 points and seven steals. That's the most steals Menser has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Pugh, who scored nine points.

Plainfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Meridian only posted four.

Perry Meridian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aubrey Hall, who earned ten points. Addy Short was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Perry Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Plainfield has already played their next contest, a 57-35 defeat against Homestead on the 22nd. As for Perry Meridian, they will welcome Southport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
