The Northeast Bearcats won the last time they faced the Westran Hornets, and things went their way on Saturday too. Northeast was the clear victor by a 69-43 margin over Westran. The win made it back-to-back wins for Northeast.
Westran's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Wortmann and Kharigan Fuemmeler. Wortmann dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Fuemmeler scored 11 points. Fuemmeler scored a full 25.6% of Westran's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Westran, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Northeast will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tipton at 2:30 p.m. on January 7, 2024. As for Westran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glasgow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glasgow will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Westran is ranked 54th).
