Ontario was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burns Hilanders. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Lili Owings made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those runs were her first of the season. Kiera Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Ontario's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Burns, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1-1.

Looking ahead, Ontario will head out to face off against McLoughlin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burns, they will be playing at home against Vale at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Hilanders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
