Even though the Springport Spartans scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the Bronson Vikings still came out on top. Bronson took their matchup against Springport 63-56. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bronson also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Bronson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamron Brackett, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Brackett is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sayler Wotta, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tucker Wiginton, who scored 18 points. Wiginton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Braydon Hawes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bronson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Springport, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Bronson will take on Maple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maple Valley is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Springport, they will head out on the road to challenge Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Concord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
