The Grafton Clippers will head out on the road to face off against the Tabb Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Grafton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Warhill at home and fell 35-6. While losing is never fun, Grafton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Warhill is ranked 19th).
The losing side was boosted by Colton Sandiford, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tabb fell victim to Lafayette's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Rams, falling 52-0. Tabb was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
The losses dropped Grafton to 3-4 and Tabb to 5-2.
Grafton strolled past Tabb in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 20-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grafton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
