Aubrey Rogers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caden Diloreto, who threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns, and Jack Trittler who picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. Trittler was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Leading Canterbury to victory were Griffin Curran and Brenden Daller. Curran rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown, while Daller rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Collin Meagher made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Aubrey Rogers' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-6 Canterbury and 2-6 Southwest Florida Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Canterbury, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
Aubrey Rogers will head out on the road to face off against East Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Canterbury, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Santa Fe Catholic is ranked 530th, while Canterbury is ranked 521st).
