The Lake Mary Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Lake Mary waltzed into Tuesday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over Windermere Prep. Given Lake Mary's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Windermere Prep is ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lake Highland Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 62-55 to Montverde Academy. Lake Highland Prep has struggled against Montverde Academy recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jada Eads, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Ari Woodard was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 4 steals.
Their wins bumped Lake Mary to 5-1 and Windermere Prep to 2-3.
Lake Mary came up short against Lake Highland Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2015, falling 61-49. Can Lake Mary avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
