The Robertson Cardinals entered their tilt with the Raton Tigers with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. Robertson took their game at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 80-53 victory over Raton. Robertson has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Mateo Contreras, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse James Gonzales, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Robertson pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Raton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Robertson will play host again and welcome Santa Fe Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Fe Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three games. As for Raton, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Michael's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
