Kayla Carpenter was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
