It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Buffalo Bison ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Booker 42-40. Given Buffalo's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 227th in Oklahoma, while Booker is ranked 904th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Booker's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hagen Chisum, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Jesus Jimenez who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Chisum scored a full 35% of Booker's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Rosales, who scored five points along with three steals.
The win was the third in a row for Buffalo, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Booker, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Buffalo won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Felt on December 16th. Booker won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tyrone at 4:40 p.m. on December 16th. Tyrone is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
