The Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belle Fourche. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lead-Deadwood has scored all season.
Belle Fourche was led to victory by Nolan Wahlfeldt and Carter McKenna. Wahlfeldt scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while McKenna dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wahlfeldt has scored at least 25% of Belle Fourche's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jet Jensen, who scored 14 points.
Lead-Deadwood's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Belle Fourche, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.
Lead-Deadwood will take on Hill City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Belle Fourche, they will head out on the road to face off against Wall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wall knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Belle Fourche likes a good challenge.
