Fowler is 8-2 against Crowley County since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Fowler suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 66-34 defeat at the hands of Peyton. While losing is never fun, Fowler can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Peyton is ranked ninth).
Despite their loss, Fowler saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaslyn Bates, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Gracie Osborne, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crowley County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 42-18 defeat at the hands of Holly. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Crowley County has suffered against Holly since January 31, 2020.
Fowler's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Crowley County, they bumped their record down to 8-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Fowler took their victory against Crowley County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 41-19. Will Fowler repeat their success, or does Crowley County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
