It's playoff time, and Gloucester had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Hampton Crabbers on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Dukes, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Gloucester's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 20-2.

Gloucester and Hampton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Dukes will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hanover at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gloucester 3.1, the Hawks 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hampton, they will head out on the road to challenge Atlee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Crabbers surely won't give up without a fight.
