Given Ascension Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Christ the King Cathedral is ranked 1173rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southcrest Christian had to suffer through a rough 62-35 loss at the hands of All Saints Episcopal School. Southcrest Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
Ascension Academy pushed their record up to 16-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Southcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.
